Will you be using batt insulation in the walls or attic?  If so, ask what other options are available.  There are better products available like spray foam, spray on fiberglass, and blown-in that will be better installed and air seal better with a higher R-value to save you money for years. Always take into consideration what you can save over the long term not the short term.

We do not use batts. They are a thing of the past. We use the newest and best insulation on the market.

10. Ask if they have been in business for five or more years to ensure they are not a fly by night business. Check their web-site and try to determine how well established they are.  You want a business that will be here for years to come.

1. What kind of spray foam do you use, where is it manufactured, and can I have a copy of the technical date sheet? Technical date sheets are available for almost every type of spray foam on the web. This makes it easy to compare different foams

2. Do I need to leave the area you are spraying? All closed cell spray foam requires a 24 hour vacancy. This is stated on the technical data sheet.

3. Is your spray foam rig heated? This is important because if it doesn’t have the proper heating system the foam will not get warm enough to be installed properly.

4. Does your spray foam rig have a generator to run your equipment. If they do not have a generator they will have to hook up through your electrical panel to run their equipment and use your power. This should be done by a certified electrician.

5. Do you protect the area from over spray from the spray foam? Do you cover studs with tape to leave a clean finish when done spray foaming so drywall can be installed easily? Do you cover items and windows with plastic to avoid them from getting spray foam on them?
